I’ve had a great time travelling in Lahore, meeting my family, eating out and shopping. I got a nice red kameez with a sharara ordered for myself. Today, I’m on my way back to Islamabad. Here’s a picture of a large mosque near where I lived. I love the huge calligraphy work of it.

I’ve been watching The Queen’s Gambit recently. It’s a very interesting show related to a chess player, Beth Harmon, and her dedication to the game. It shows well what goes on in the mind of a genius and different aspects of the game like the type of chess moves possible, like the Sicilian Defense and as the title says The Queen’s Gambit. I especially loved how the show ended and the message I inferred from it.

Yesterday, I felt like having some delicious food while supporting my friend’s baking business which she’s been working on ever since lockdown started. I ordered these delicious looking brownies and some lasagne. The lasagne was soooooo delicious I loved every bite of it and the brownies were very fudgy and tempting, especially after warming them up before eating them. Do check her out on Instagram by the name @chefwithasteth.

I met up with a friend at Chop Chop Wok today because she simply said the word ‘sushi’ and I was like “Done!” Hence, I’m enjoying some delicious sushi without even thinking of touching the wasabi.

I’ve finally decided to watch Lord of The Rings after so long. I watched it a long time ago but I seem to have forgotten the story and by my friend’s insistence, I’m watching it now (again?). I’ve forgotten the story that much that I remember The Hobbit’s story to such detail that I’m relating The Hobbit to this movie, instead of the other way around.
Is this a picture of Rivendell? Yes, it is.

Checking out the local shops on a rainy day in Islamabad.
Saturday, 12th December
I ordered a book from a fellow blogger as I got hooked on the awesome title and a little excerpt she sent of it in a bloggers’ group, Pakistan lady Bloggers. I’m excited to read it!

We are about halfway through the Queens Gambet and totally hooked on it. I can not see it ending well! Looks like you have had some culinary treats this week.

Ooooh loving the look of those brownies. Very indulgent! Enjoy your new book, how fab to support a fellow blogger. I guess we will see more books with face masks on the cover given how long all this is going on for!

Your friend’s brownies look delicious as does the sushi. I’ve not seen The Queens Gambit but I’ve heard good things about it. The Lord of the Rings films were such great films. Still haven’t seen The Hobbit yet though. #project366

Well, I’m not a fan of sushi but that is very well presented – I’d be tempted to try a nibble (then go “ewwww no, I knew I didn’t like it” ! lol). The brownies on the other hand – yum !

What a very talented friend you have, those brownies look amazing… but you had me at lasagna! You cannot beat a good homecooked lasanga, the perfect comfort food! So many people have recommended the Queen’s Gambit, I really should give it a try! Sim x
