I’m playing the third part of a PS4 game called Uncharted which I’d like to call the female version of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. This game is great as it has a lot of action, climbing and swinging around and puzzle-solving missions. However, Tomb Raider has a special place in my heart.

Since I’m on the lookout for Urdu books, my friend suggested me this book “Jannat Kai Pattay”, i.e “Leaves of Heaven”. I think it has a spiritual theme but not sure of the exact story but am really excited to read it after reading Muhammad (SAW) and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

In my classes, I learnt about a certain area on the retina, the region of the eye where light rays emitted from objects in the surrounding are focused on. The region is called a ‘blind spot’ because it contains no photoreceptors so it doesn’t sense light. We don’t notice it in our daily life as we use both our eyes to see so the visual fields overlap.
Here’s an exercise to find the blind spot in your eye. Look at the picture above and keep it right in front of you. If you want to use your left eye, cover your right eye with your hand. Focus your gaze on the cross and move forward and backward till you notice that the circle in the peripheral vision on your left has vanished. You’ll see it when you keep looking at the cross as your blind spot is located laterally in your retina.
For the right eye, repeat the same steps with the right eye while focusing on the circle. It’s truly amazing.

This week’s takeout is…………………BLT!!! I ordered a Mushroom and Chicken Burger this time instead of beef as I was craving mushrooms. It turned out to be delicious as mushroom sauce makes everything perfect. We got garlic bread as well.

The retina of the eye is where the light rays emitted from objects in the surrounding that you’re looking at are focused on. It lies behind the iris, pupil and lens and lines the inner part of the backside of the eyeball.
In a class lecture, our professor shared this picture of an actual retina.

Here’s to another fancy cheesecake for you to gaze your eyes on! I baked it to take a picture of it for a guest post I’m sending to a fellow blogger, The Petite Home Cook . I’ll share my guest post on my blog as soon as it is published so stay tuned!

Don’t mind Nathan Drake. I’m just making him chill in the desert.

The PS4 game you are playing sounds interesting.
I remember learning about blind spots in school. It is pretty amazing.
Your food on Wednesday looks so good. I don’t think I have ever had a chicken and mushroom burger. I love both chicken and mushrooms but don’t often have them together. That cheesecake looks amazing too! Yum! x

The cheesecake looks delicious! That is very interesting about the retina and the blind spots. I’ve just made my eyes feel funny by staring at the cross and moving backwards and forwards. I get everyone who has read this post has done the same!

Hahaaha…don’t move too fast and don’t sit in front of the cross or circle, sit between them and focus your left eye on the cross

Could not manage to get the blind spot test to work for me either…I have always wanted a print out of the pic they take of the back of you eye at the optician but never convinced them to print it for me.
Glad you are enjoying working your way through the game.

The BLT looks lovely, good choice with the chicken and mushrooms. Wow the retina looks so delicate and such a different shape, I expected it to be flat not with curly edges

I always find eyes fascinating so it must be good to know how they really work. I used to love playing Lara Croft Tomb Raider, so Uncharted sounds good
