In a travel group that I’m a part of, I came across a post of a person who went to Turkey and they came across the Trojan Horse, the prop or statue from the renowned movie Troy. It’s here because according to history, Troy was a city located in the Western side of Turkey hence it was obvious that this statue be placed here in the city of ย ร‡anakkale, with the official request by The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey.

When the coffee looks so good you want to dive into it….. Mmmmmmm………

Wednesday, 8th July

I forgot to take a picture today so here’s a picture from Thursday; a snap of a part of a market area in F-10 sector called F-10 Markaz.

Thursday, 9th July

In this week’s outing, we went shopping and ordered food from Howdy, next to BLT where we went to last time in F-7. The burgers were good but I prefer BLT, so does my family. Here’s a picture of a table at Hot Spot located in the same place as BLT and Howdy. Hot Spot is a funky ice cream parlor from where I had cookie dough ice cream.

COVID-19 has given me time to learn driving from my father so I’m occasionally sent on grocery, ATM and naan errands. It feels nice, the strange kind of power you have with the hands on the wheels and the wind flowing through my hair…..and a mask on my face.

Saturday, 11th July

I gave my online exam of Neurosciences which went alright although I was more stressed out than normal as answering questions with a clicking timer wasn’t normal. We answer questions on the laptop and open Google Meet with our phone with the camera on so that our instructors can see that we are not cheating. Alhamdulillah it went alright, although I have my doubts.

That sounds a weird way to do exams, but it makes sense. I always wondered how it would be possible to do an exam online and for the teacher/ examiner to be sure a student wasn’t cheating.
It sounds like you are enjoying being able to drive. My younger son will be learning in a few months. My eldest can drive, but the cost of car insurance is so high for him that he isn’t currently driving. I hope to put him back on the insurance in the autumn.

a ticking timer sounds very distracting. I suppose some people will need watching so they dont cheat, sounds a good way of doing it.
Love the table top.

Oooh I hope your exam went well. When do you find out? Great to hear you’re learning to drive. My daughter started taking lessons just before confinement so she’s had to put that dream on hold for now ! Great to see the local pictures – it gives a real sense of where you live. The Trojan horse looks great too ๐Ÿ™‚

That trojan horse looks pretty impressive. Oh what a strange way to do exams although its good they are still doing them and not cancelled them.

My eldest can start learning how to drive in 3 years in sha Allah! Will be strange having her drive around!

Love the Trojan Horse. I’m drawn to that bookshop in your picture – I find it very difficult to resist a second hand bookshop. Good luck with the exam.

Good luck with the exam results, I’m sure you’ve done well with all the study you do. Yes the coffee looks divine and that table top of tiles is wonderful. Well done with the driving also, will give you a bit more fredom

I love looking at screen savers, I get to see so many beautiful sights from around the world! Hope you get a good exam result, I have no idea how an online version would work! Do you get extra time? I write quicker than I type! #project366

Such a pretty table top! You had raved about BLT previously, will you go back to them? I’m such a creature of habit, always use a favourite takeaway and get the same food… maybe I need to shake it up a bit!
That is a magnificent trojan horse… I watched Troy many moons ago now so cannot recall the trojan horse, but maybe that is an excuse to watch it again! Hope you are having a lovely week! Sim x

Hope your exam went well, and you get a good result. It sounds stressful, to work with the teachers watching you via the iPhone camera.
That table surface looks so beautiful. The Trojan horse is amazing. I should re-watch the film, as I totally don’t remember what the horse looked like.
Big well done on learning how to drive!
