Peace and blessings be upon you all

A few minutes ago, I came across this lovely post of a talented writer about honesty that really resonated with me. Do check it out:

“Tell the truth or at least, don’t lie.”
An amazing bit of advice the famous doctor of psychology Jordan B. Peterson gave in his ’12 rules for life’, a book he published one and a half year ago.
It sounds so incredibly trivial that it’s almost cheesy to write or to talk about it. Of course you shouldn’t lie and always stick to the truth. Your parents teach you that as soon as your dimwit primate brain figured out how to put thoughts together in words and express them with your mouth. That usually starts happening between the age of 18-36 months, depending on how quickly the child’s development process takes place. And the very most of you will probably say, that they consider themselves a very honest person.
Well, that’s great! So… What’s the issue?

Maybe I should start a small scale experiment at this point, because what serves as a better example than your own mind?
Take your phone, open your note-app and create a note. You can call it anything you want, as long as you know what it’s for.
From now on you will put a sad smiley in that note for every single time you said or texted something, that is slightly different, different or significantly different from what you actually believe.
And yes, I intentionally didn’t say “lied” or “made something up”, because there is a difference.
I know, I know. Sometimes we have to say things that are different from what we believe is true. Partially to protect ourselves from consequences we’re not ready to bear or simply to avoid conflict we can live without right now. Sometimes we hide the truth or lie to protect someone we love, no matter how wrong we know it is……………..
