Project 365 2019 – WEEK 23

Bismillah Hir Rahman Ir Raheem

Peace and blessings be upon you all

Sunday, 2nd June

In the heat of Ramadan, we decided to get out pet shih tzu a nice shave to deal with the weather.

After the shave, her face and paws looks poofier than the rest of her body, kind of looking like a cat. She was in shock but I think she is enjoying herself now.

Monday, 3rd June

Tonight was Khatam-e-Quran at the mosque, where we celebrate the completion of recitation of Quran in Taraweeh prayers. After we offered the final prayers of this blessed month, there were a few lectures, a naat which was very beautifully recited and it ended with a series of duas for blessings, forgiveness, strength, etc. for the whole Ummah and the entire humanity.

Then of course, everyone got mithai (sweets) and hugged and congratulated each other.

Tuesday, 4th June

I took my shih tzu out for a walk today and the sky looked really pretty. But the eyes are much better cameras than the electronic ones.

Wednesday, 5th June

The moon was sighted yesterday so the next day (today) was EID!!

I prayed Eid numaaz at the masjid with my family and sibling. After the khutbah (sermon) and numaaz, there was a series of duas similar to the ones recited at Khatam-e-Quran. After that, we hugged each other and wished each other Eid Mubarak.

There were no plans today so we had a lazy day at home in our nighties.

Thursday, 6th June

Second day of Eid was uneventful, but I’ve finished watching the HBO Miniseries Chernobyl. It consists of 5, hour long, episodes about the incidence of a blast at a nuclear power plant called Chernobyl. It describes the repercussions of that event, the extent of people who were exposed to severe radiation, the people who died, the Committee who tried to solve this issue and most important, the secrets involved that were responsible for this event.

It’s a really informative series and was very well directed. I recommend you all watch it.

Friday, 7th June

On the third day of Eid, my family and a couple of friends have set off on a trip to Northern Areas. The places we will visit include Hunza, Baltit fort, Khunjerab pass & Attabad Lake. I hope it turns out well. Here is a picture of the city of Abbottabad as we cross it and are entering Mansehra.

Saturday, 8th June

On the way to Hunza, we came across this beautiful view of River Indus. Words can’t describe the beauty Allah has planted on this Earth.

A wonderful week indeed. I know I’m late with this – “Eid mubarak”. I’ve taken the liberty of editing the sunset in which you say the eye was better than the camera. Your phone will have editing software built into it. If you drop me an email at I will send you the photo and explained what I’ve done.

Thank you for the kind wishes!! Ur not late. U wished on the 3rd day of Eid, according to where I am.
Wow!! Thank you so much! Yes, that would be helpful, because i’m currently in a trip to mountainous Northern areas taking pictures & what u see urself is better than what the camera captures. Thank you so much, thats very kind of you. I’ll email u soon

It sounds like your dog needed a nice shave to deal with the weather.
I have watched Chernobyl and it is an amazing and a real eye opener. I was really shocked by it but I agree everyone needs to watch it.
It sounds and looks like you are off on an amazing trip. Gorgeous scenery x

It sounds like you had a lovely Eid. I know what you mean about the eyes being better than the camera. Sometimes my photos come out exactly as they want to, but at other times the camera really fails to capture the detail I see. I’ve heard good things about Chernobyl and would like to watch it, but we don’t have the right channel on our TV!

Glad you had a good Eid.
Laughed at your description of the dog since being trimmed, but yes trimming is handy for them in the heat.
We watched Chernobyl as well. I remember it at the time and the impact it had on this country let alone all those poor locals.

Such a stunning view. I have not watched Chernobyl yet although like everyone else heard good things with have to make sure I do. Glad to hear Edi went well x
