Project 365 2019 – WEEK 7

Bismillah Hir Rahman Ir Raheem

Hope you all had a great week. Let me show you how mine went.

Sunday, 10th Feb

Staring at the after-effects of intense volleyball games. Personally, I love getting scratches, bruises and little injuries after playing sports because it shows that I’m not some delicate and overly-sensitive person and it gives a feeling of coming back after a tough battle πŸ˜€

Monday, 11th Feb

Shifa Student Society is organising an event, SIST – Shifa Inter-Scholastic Tournament, which will take place on 23rd and 24th February. The events that will take place range from  Art on Spot & Calligraphy on Spot to Tajweed & Nasheed to Spoken Word (poetry) & Essay on Spot (English and Urdu) to sports such as Futsal & Volleyball.

The management team, which included me, was taken to the venue of the Tournament ‘Faisal Auditorium’ which is right behind Faisal Masjid. I didn’t even know something important existed behind the Masjid! We were given a tour of the auditorium and its galleries and conference halls to let us know which event will take place where. I liked this hall very much because of the organised variation of colours of the seats and the vastness of the hall.

I am the co-head of Spoken Word and Essay on Spot Urdu. Right now even, I’m contacting participants, confirming their participation, sending them the schedule, etc.

Tuesday, 12th Feb

Baba took Caesar (not our dog) out for a walk today. I came out to bring some chicken bones and stock for him. He’s always excited when Baba comes because he’s perhaps the only one who takes him our regularly. On the way back before dropping Caesar back home, we make sure he’s well fed.

It always seems as if he hasn’t eaten for days.

Wednesday, 13th Feb

I had a Practical Exam today. Once I was done, and I was done pretty soon, my friends and I were really hungry and our college canteen doesn’t serve tasty and healthy food so we decided to head to the hospital cafeteria.

We talked about our exam, gynaecology and life while we had a wholesome 3 course meal; salad, Haleem and strawberry mousse. The picture above is Haleem, a dish I absolutely love to have with some naan.

Thursday, 14th Feb

Another lovely view of the Margalla Hills from Faisal Auditorium.

Friday, 15th Feb

After our end of Module exam, my friends and I were in a big hurry to get out of college and hang out somewhere. I had a lovely bowl of Dragon Chicken with rice at Ginyaki in F-7 Markaz (shopping area) while facing this elegantly designed wall. Then we had dessert, i.e delicious fudgy cookies from Karamel at Beverly Centre.

Saturday, 16th Feb

This is the poster of the event I am managing. I got really excited when I saw that Yusuf Chambers is coming to speak. I used to listen to him often during Ramadan shows when he talked about Islam, along with Dr. Zakir Naik, and he’s really good. Finger’s crossed that the event goes well.

If anyone is in Islamabad on these dates, what are you waiting for? Come along!

Good luck with your event! It sounds like a huge job organising something like that. That is a serious bruise from your volleyball! Your Haleem looks delicious.

Volleyball played well doesn’t cause much injuries. You have to avoid getting hit on the hands as the ball doesn’t go where you want it to and it hurts bad.
Yeah it’s delicious, do try it out if ur a foodie. Sorry i didn’t define it as i’m not sure how to 😝

ouch at the volleyball injury, glad it has not put you off playing.
The event sounds like a lot of work, but should be so worthwhile and nice you have one of your favourite speakers coming.
Good job the hospital is close to the college for decent food, I never ate college food though the uni stuff was ok.
