Project 365 2019 – WEEK 2

Bismillah Hir Rahman Ir Raheem

Cheers to another week of living in 2019 Alhamdulillah 😊

Sunday, 6th Jan

As it is quite common in my life, I find myself attending people weddings who I do not know at a personal level but have family relations too. I know my aunt, uncle, grandparents, etc. but I do not know their brother’s sister-in-law’s nephew’s daughter’s cousin’s wedding which, unfortunately, I am invited to. After a series of meeting a few relatives I know and a lot of relatives I don’t know (but smile like I’ve known them since childhood), I spend my time enjoying what I can most….food.

Monday, 7th Jan

One of my most favorite shows is a Turkish one called Dirilis: Ertugrul (Resurrection Ertugrul) I talked about this show in a recent blog post of mine because it is an amazing show about the story behind the rise of the Ottoman Empire and the fight of Muslims against the Templars and Mongols. It’s a really fascinating, funny, serious, mind-boggling unpredictable show which gets even more twisted by each episode. Every actor showcased their character extremely well, especially the lead protagonist, Ertugrul. Being a Muslim, it helps reinforce my faith (the show is known as the ‘Halal’ version of Game of Thrones) but people of many faiths watched this show and say it is one of the best. I recommend that you all watch it.

Tuesday, 8th Jan

Well, it was meant to start of as a regular day until one glass from my glasses fell off while I was wearing it. Apparently, my frame got cut on one side. We decided to go the next day to get new glasses while on that day, my parents argued whether to use liquid glue or tape to fix the frame. Mama won.

Wednesday, 9th Jan

Here I am, chilling in an optics store. I chose one of the glasses in the first two columns.

Thursday, 10th Jan

Here’s a view of the beautiful Margalla Hills and Faisal Masjid in my beautiful city of Islamabad; a city I started living in a few years ago and call home. I was really looking forward to Coke Fest; eating a lot of delicious food from stalls and shouting with the crowd for our local, famous and talented performers of Coke Studio. But then rain came and it has been postponed to two weeks later.

Friday, 11th Jan

Here’s the building of the medical college I will be attending. It used to be alongside the hospital but then this building was made which is a couple of minutes walk from the hospital. I preferred studying near the hospital thought. It feels more welcoming. But Alhamdulillah I am finally in a medical college and will start from Monday onwards.

Saturday, 12th Jan

If you come to or live in Islamabad and you don’t go to Monal Restaurant on the Margalla Hills, you are missing too much from life. You have an exquisite view of Islamabad from no other place than here, and the food here is exquisite (desi food mostly), and the cheese naans are to die for!

So thats how my week went. How was yours?

Yep. 2-3 a month sometimes. Mostly takes place in summer and winter. Well, the relatives of the couple put some money in an envelope and give it to the bride/groom’s father. Its better than giving a gift as the couple may not like the gift, but money. They can spend that on anything plus it helps the couple and their family to lessen the financial burden of wedding plans

Thoroughly enjoyed reading about your day. I’ve been meaning to watch Resurrection Ertugal for a long time.. After reading about it here I think I’m going to download it today InshaAllah.
Love your pics of Islamabad. I have so many pak friends and always wanted to visit Pakistan. I wish it was easier for us Indians to visit Pakistan.
